George Boss Service Award
The George Boss Service Award is presented by the Touchdown Club to adults who volunteer
their time working with and for the youth in our community. The award is named after George
Boss who was one of the Touchdown Club's charter members and its first vice-president when
the Club was organized in 1941. He later served as president. George was among the first
recipients in 1952. He was instrumental in starting the Bantam Football League and gave the
Touchdown Club its motto, "If you can't be in a sport, be one."

He has continued to be a strong advocate for CYO's use of St. Hilary facilities, and he has spent countless hours making sure that those facilities were in great condition before and after CYO events. Whether it was sweeping floors, lining fields, mowing grass or taking tickets, no job was too large or too small for Tim Shovlin when it came to helping CYO. He worked tirelessly throughout the year. He coordinated every sport, every season, purchased equipment, registered teams, recruited coaches and permitted numerous tasks to provide over 700 athletes at St. Hilary the best experience possible.
